That's an answer that the folks at Melcrum are hoping to answer. Determining who the most influential person in internal communications is a tough nut to crack. I first saw the hint of this one a LinkedIn update from Robin Crumby, the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Melcrum Publishing.
In addition to determining who the "most" influential is, they are also putting together a Top 50. You can put in your two cents here, here, or here (in the right column). I'll keep my vote to myself, but I went the "Other" route. No offense to the people already listed but I think they left out a key individual. Each provide their own unique strengths (measurement, tools, etc.) but I'd rather support someone who excites and engages with fellow communicators.
Plus, influential is a tricky word and necessarily isn't always positive. There are a lot of talking heads out there who are quite influential but do not have a positive impact on the individuals or companies they interact with or consult for. And, to date, many of these so-called experts have shunned the digital signage world.
So please, put in your vote. Vote for yourself. Vote for me. Vote for the person you think is influencing the future of internal communications.
