As we've said, content is king. But creating and developing content for your digital signage network is a lot of hard work. Much like your intranet, you need to keep your signage fresh and up to date or else your audience will stop paying attention. There are some tricks you can employ to automatically update your digital signage.

Using our Broadcast Portal, our web-based digital signage software, you can upload dynamic flash files. Say that broadcasting your company's stock price is important for your employee communications, you can use dynamic flash files to have your screens update with real-time stock prices.

I also encourage our customers to not underestimate the value of RSS feeds. If you're unfamiliar with RSS, you can learn more on Wikipedia. When I managed my own digital signage, I used the RSS from my company's PR page to automatically update the screens. This way I knew that whenever that page was updated, so were all of our employees.

And as cheesy as it may sound, weather can also be a key feature to add. MediaTile partners with Accuweather for the weather service. Here in the Midwest, weather can change by the minute so it's always nice to be able to provide that info to your employees.
