Try to avoid speed bumps with your internal communications

Avoid speed bumps in your internal communicationsI think back to my days of being a journalism student, learning that news must be timely and relevant. This doesn't change when it comes to employee communications. Relevancy should be the easy part -- you know exactly who your audience is (or at least you should).

But what if you have to get a message out to everyone...right now! It's the timeliness that can be a bit sticky sometimes in the corporate world. There are speed bumps everywhere. We've all been through the scenarios when you have to run a message by HR, then Legal, then your Execs, then back to HR again.

Not exactly timely. And while many corporate communications departments rely on newsletters and intranets as their main vehicles, they simply are not comprehensive. Newsletters aren't timely. Intranets aren't inclusive. Digital signage is both.

I came across this post from Jeannette Paladino about internal communications strategies. She highlights five key strategies for engaging your workforce. And as Jeannette points out at the end, speed is of the essence. With your own digital signage network, you can update update your employees with the latest news in an instant.

You need to get your message our there BEFORE they read or hear about it from another source.

No speed bumps to get in the way.
