Every now and then, I like to take a break from talking about just digital signage and pass along interesting data impacting the world of employee communications.
I think just about everyone is a little bit concerned (if not absolutely terrified) about job security right now. And, to no surprise, internal communications professionals are part of this group. I caught wind of this survey out of the UK that shows that slightly more than 50% were either very insecure or quite insecure about their job prospects compared to 12 months ago, and some had even already lost their job.
Like I said, these numbers probably translate to just about every job sector across all industries. But what interests me is that only 4% feel very secure in their job. Now the data collected isn't overly scientific, but for only roughly 1 out of 20 internal communicators to feel secure in their job, that's a frightening number.
If there ever is a time, now is it to prove to your businesses the value you bring as an internal communicator to the table!
