This week, I discussed digital signage with a utility company (to remain nameless) in the Pacific northwest. A considerable portion of their workforce is made up of line workers who are out and about every day repairing and doing maintenance on utility lines. Digital signage can help them immensely.

There is simply no excuse for corporate communicators not to be using video these days. With cameras like the Flip and free video editing software coming on most computers or cameras, there is no reason not to use videos to tell your employee communications stories. Making videos has never been easier.

When times get tough, corporate communication budgets are often the first to take a hit. But that shouldn't restrict you from making an investment in digital signage. All too often I hear from prospective customers that they'd love to invest in a network but they just don't have it in their budget. Hogwash I say.
