Utility company looking to empower employees with information

(Get it? Utility company looking to em"power"? Just wanted to make sure.)

In this job, I get to talk to companies all over the world in various sorts of industries. It's fascinating. Despite these geographic or market differences, they all have something in common. They have a portion of their workforce that they are looking to improve communication to.

Digital signage could aid utility company corporate communication effectivnessThis week, I discussed digital signage with a utility company (to remain nameless) in the Pacific northwest. A considerable portion of their workforce is made up of line workers who are out and about every day repairing and doing maintenance on utility lines. The workers are only back the stations and depots periodically throughout the day or even week. The company struggles with getting updated and effective business information to their workforce.

Digital signage can help them immensely. By putting their corporate communication messages on a loop, they can catch workers whenever they come back to the location. And the content would be updated every day, unlike a bulletin board or poster station would. The network manager could update all of the screens across the region from her desk.

If you have a workforce who's always on the go and aren't chained to a desk, consider digital signage as the way to provide them the information they need.
