When times get tough, corporate communication budgets are often the first to take a hit. But that shouldn't restrict you from making an investment in digital signage.
All too often I hear from prospective customers that they'd love to invest in a network but they just don't have it in their budget. Hogwash I say.
Corporate communication departments have budgets for printing and whatnot. Digital signage can typically be installed and operated for less than what companies budget to print posters, flyers and banners. It amazes me what is budgeted to just ship printed materials around the country and the globe, let alone pay for the printing.
In all fairness, if you're looking to install a network of 50 or more screens, that will require additional planning and financial forethought. But these networks likely fall under corporate capital procedures and wouldn't even hit the corp comm budget.
When I installed my network at Rolls-Royce, I had to go through the capital approval process. It's not a process I'd like to repeat over and over (I was rejected three times before I was approved), but the journey was worth it. Not only did I eventually get my network approved and installed, but I also gained a better understanding of the company's financial procedures.
So if you think you don't have the budget, first take a look at the numbers. You may just be able to get it done.
